There are a few cosmogonic hymns in Vedas which explains the origin of the Universe - how this universe came into existence and how the universe started? But in certain hymns of Rig Veda, there are references of cosmic dust also. Cosmic dust or space dust is referred to as extraterrestial dust which exists in outer space. It can be intergalactic dust, interstellar or interplanetary. Accumulation of cosmic dust over the time forms planets for example our Earth. And thus it is also known as the building material of Universe.

The above Vedic verse discusses about the constituents of the universe. The major issue while discussing the big bang theory is what exactly was there before the big bang? And where the universe was started i.e. which point exactly in space-time continuum.

Vishvakarma - The Creative Power of the Universe |
Further the references of cosmic dust as the constituent of Universe, there are Vedic verses which addresses Vishvakarma who is known as the creator of the Universe, who designed the Universe by blasting (big bang) and smelting.
