The word Veda means knowledge, they refers to wisdom, knowledge or vision.These Vedic texts are primeval sources of human culture and civilization. These ancient texts were written in India in the time period between 1500 BCE and 1000 BCE.  There are four Vedas - Rig VedaSama VedaYajur VedaAtharva Veda. Out of these four Vedas,the earliest specimen of Indian literature is Rig Veda.
Rig Veda refers to Gyana or Knowledge,Yajur Veda contains 'Concepts of KARMA', Sama Veda describe the 'Practice of BHAKTI' and Atharva Veda discusses the concepts of VIGYANA (Science).

These Vedic texts presents stages of changes in the life of Aryans discussing their social, economic, cultural and political development over 1500 years. Here the philosophical and scientific doctrine of Vedas will be discussed here.
